Andon Board — Industrial Production Display

An andon board is a shop-floor LED display that shows the production line's live state — Target vs Actual output, line status (Running / Stopped / Setup / Idle / Breakdown), downtime causes, OEE and takt time — large enough for operators, supervisors and plant managers to read across the floor. The name comes from the Toyota Production System's andon lamps; the modern andon display board replaces the lamp with live production numbers.

Three ways, often combined: directly from the machine or line PLC over Modbus, RS-485 or Ethernet; from SCADA or MES systems; or from your ERP over a network or cable link, so the board shows the plan the office released and the actuals the line produces. Manual entry via keypad or our IR remote covers lines without automation.

Yes. Andon call points at each station let an operator flag a breakdown, material shortage or quality hold — the board switches the line's status, an audible or visual alert fires, and the downtime clock starts logging against the cause. Alerts can also route to supervisors' phones through our machine-downtime solution.

It depends on the farthest reader. As a rule of thumb, 4-inch digits read comfortably to about 30 metres, 6-inch to about 45, 8-inch to about 60 and 12-inch beyond that — we confirm the sizing during the site survey, along with hanging, wall or ceiling mounting.

The boards ship in MS powder-coated cabinets as standard, with stainless-steel cabinets for pharma, food and beverage floors where washdown or corrosion resistance matters.
