Why end-sensor rolls matter
Three printer failures, all caused by the roll.
Rolls are bought on price, once, by somebody who will never see the printer. Then the printer fails and the system gets the blame. These are the three failures our service desk is called out for — every one of them starts with a market roll:
The last piece jams in the mechanism
A roll with no end sensor runs out mid-token. The final scrap feeds in, wedges, and the counter stops while somebody opens the printer with a queue watching.
The end tape melts onto the head
Cheap rolls finish with an adhesive tape. It reaches the heated plate, melts across it, and the print mechanism is finished — not cleaned, replaced. This is the expensive one.
Folded winding thickens the paper
Rolls wound with a folded start are thicker at the core than the feed path allows. The fold arrives, the paper binds, and the jam looks like a printer fault.
What we supply instead
Rolls converted to our printers' specification — correct width and GSM, clean winding, no adhesive end tape, and two separate end warnings: the end sensor the printer detects, plus a black-printed last foot so the tokens themselves show the roll is finishing. Even if one warning is ever missed, the other still catches it — the last scrap never feeds into the mechanism. The printer-mechanism warranty depends on using rolls of this specification.

Paper quality is printer life
In thermal printing, the paper is half the print mechanism.
A thermal printer has no ink or ribbon — the print head's heating elements write directly onto the paper's heat-sensitive coating, and the auto-cutter shears every token. So the grade of the paper decides how the head, the platen roller and the cutter age. Our rolls are the highest grade of thermal paper we can convert, and it shows up as a longer-lived token printing machine:
Gentle on the print head
A thermal print head writes by heating the paper's coating directly — there is no ink between them. A smooth, uniformly coated paper lets the head develop the image at lower energy; rough or unevenly coated market paper acts like fine abrasive on the heating elements, wearing the head down print by print.
Clean shear for the auto-cutter
Our printers auto-cut every token. A consistent GSM and fibre structure shears cleanly in one stroke; paper that is too thick, too soft or unevenly wound deflects the blade, leaves burrs, and is the most common reason an auto-cutter starts tearing instead of cutting.
Low dust, clean rollers
Cheap thermal paper sheds coating and fibre dust with every cut. The dust settles on the platen roller and the cutter track, glazes under heat, and shows up later as slipping feeds and faint prints. High-grade base paper sheds almost none.
True width, tight winding
Exact 55 / 72 mm width and tight, fold-free winding keep the roll running the feed path dead straight — no edge rub on the guides, no mid-roll binding, no jam that looks like a printer fault.

Box pricing beats loose market rolls at any realistic monthly volume — and the proforma invoice makes the purchase clean for accounts. AMC customers get contract pricing against their AMC number.

What is the thermal paper roll price?+
Rolls are quoted per box against a GST invoice — the per-roll price depends on the width, GSM and quantity, and box pricing beats loose-roll market prices at any realistic monthly volume. Ask for the current box price on WhatsApp or through the order form; AMC customers quote their AMC number for contract pricing.
Are you the thermal paper roll manufacturer?+
We are the manufacturer of the printers these rolls feed, and the rolls are converted to our specification — width, GSM, core, winding direction and the end-sensor stripe our printers detect. That specification is exactly what a market roll lacks, and it is why the printer-mechanism warranty requires rolls supplied or subscribed through Infra DigiTech.
Do you supply 80 mm thermal paper rolls for billing printers?+
Our stocked sizes are 55 mm and 72 mm — the widths our token and POS printers use. 80 mm billing paper rolls for standard POS billing printers can be arranged on bulk order; tell us the printer model and monthly volume on WhatsApp and sales will confirm price and lead time.
How do I know the roll is about to end?+
Twice over. First, the printer's end sensor detects the roll running low and raises the out-of-paper warning on the display or the tab. Second, the last foot of every roll is printed black — the tokens themselves visibly announce the end, so even in the unlikely case the sensor reading is missed, staff see it coming and no last scrap ever feeds into the mechanism. Clients are double covered; market rolls give you neither warning.
Does the paper quality really affect the printer?+
Directly. Thermal printing has no ink — the print head's heating elements write onto the paper's coating itself, so the paper is effectively half of the print mechanism. High-grade, uniformly coated paper prints at lower head energy and without abrasion; a consistent GSM shears cleanly in the auto-cutter instead of deflecting the blade; and low-dust base paper keeps the platen roller and cutter track clean. That is why sites running our rolls simply see their token printing machines last longer.
Can I use market rolls in an Infra DigiTech printer?+
The printer will print — until the roll damages it. Market rolls cause the jams and melted end tape described above, and damage caused by rolls of the wrong specification is not covered under warranty. A print mechanism ruined by melted end-tape is replaced, not cleaned; the rolls cost less than doing that once.
